The practice directors have extensive experience in the design and build of commercial projects. Our trademark qualities of design excellence coupled with real-world pragmatism enable us to take a clear-sighted view of commercial commissions and commit to delivering smart architectural solutions that are as practical as they are inspirational. Completed projects include a Michelin-starred restaurant and cookery school, the extension and refurbishment of a primary school and an upgrade to a Forestry Commission office.

Savernake Dental Practice

The design for this modest 3-surgery extension to a successful dental practice in Marlborough took it’s lead from the palette of the existing building, built in 2010. The project was delivered on time and on budget with local firm Carty Building Contractors. Covid 19 restrictions delayed bringing the new unit into use until the summer of 2020.

The Woodspeen Restaurant

A traditional country pub with striking contemporary restaurant extension offering a Michelin-starred menu and breath taking views over the Berkshire Downs.

The Woodspeen Cookery School

We were delighted to work with Michelin-starred chef John Campbell to overhaul and extend his cookery school at The Woodspeen restaurant. Opened in 2014 the success of his first venture identified the need for more space as well as a complete re-fit of the original. With the restaurant’s market garden just outside, pupils are able to cook using the freshest of ingredients and learn from one of the industry’s finest

All Saints School

This grade II listed Victorian school, located deep in the Devon countryside, enjoyed success that was outstripping the facilities it had to offer. We developed a masterplan to take the school into the 21st century. This included a three classroom extension for Foundation and Keystage 1 pupils together with a programme of extensive alterations to the existing listed building. The form and materials of the new buildings draw inspiration from local stone and flint barns as well as the church nearby

Wyck Hill House Hotel

We were asked to assess the feasibility of adding an indoor swimming pool and spa to this boutique hotel in the Cotswolds. The existing hotel is built around a grade II listed house. Our concept design would add a barn-style building to the side of the new part of the hotel in an area currently occupied by a car park.
